Research Modules

DIWAN research modules:

Module 1  addresses the question of how educational styles in immigrant families have changed since the 1980s. This analysis is based on multiple data sets to the present day (University of Hamburg, Bernhard Nauck).

Module 2 examines the ways in which educational guides addressed to all parents have changed within the proposed timeframe. Two perspectives are taken here: firstly, general educational guides will be examined (Deutsches Jugendinstitut); secondly, guides specifically dedicated to language education will be reviewed (University of Hamburg).

Module 3 then concerns the heterogeneity of educational styles in immigrant families via comparison of so-called  “new” and “established” immigrant groups (Deutsches Jugendinstitut).

Recommendations for the future design of educational guides will be formulated in Module 4, based on  the results of our analyses (Deutsches Jugendinstitut).
